Magpies can take early lead
Newcastle are seventh in the Premier League – and with two games in hand over all the teams above them, they are well placed to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
A victory at the King Power Stadium would move the Magpies up to fifth in the table. The visitors come into this game off the back of three straight wins. In the last two, they went ahead before the break.
It surely will not be long before 19th-placed Leicester join Southampton in being relegated from the Premier League. The Foxes have lost all of their previous seven games in the top flight and have been behind at half-time in five of them.
Barnes making most of rare chance
Harvey Barnes had had to be patient since joining the Magpies in the summer of 2023, with Anthony Gordon generally occupying the forward’s favoured position on the left wing.
Since Gordon picked up a groin injury while on England duty, Barnes has made the most of a rare chance, assisting in the recent victories against West Ham United and Brentford.
A lack of opportunities has contributed to the former Leicester player having not scored since December. He is overdue a goal and his odds to find the net against his old club are attractively priced.
Foxes pair will commit fouls
The last of our recommendations is a five-leg bet builder that pays out at 11/4, and it starts with a Newcastle win.
To that we add the Magpies to score two goals or more – Leicester have conceded that many in seven of their past eight games. It should be a busy night for the hosts’ goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and we are backing him to make three or more saves.
Finally, we have gone for Wilfred Ndidi and Boubakary Soumare to both commit a foul, with the midfield pair likely to spend the evening trying to win the ball back from their dominant visitors.
