Who is paying the most each-way places for the Grand National 2025?
Our big-race guide details how many each-way places bookmakers are paying out on for today’s 2025 Grand National

If you’re placing a bet on the 2025 Grand National, it’s worth choosing a bookmaker that is paying out on more than the standard four places. The good news is that there are plenty of them for bettors to choose from ahead of this afternoon’s main event at Aintree (4.00pm).
When it comes to the world’s greatest steeplechase, picking a winner can seem as challenging as Aintree’s 30 formidable fences and the four-and-a-quarter-mile slog that the field of 34 will tackle.
Ordinarily, for a handicap with a field as big as the National, which has a limit of 34 runners, the nation’s bookmakers would pay out on the first four runners for each-way bets. But the National is no ordinary race and this guide details the operators that are offering five, six and even seven places.
Grand National places 2025: Who is paying most each-way places?

At the time of writing, Befred has taken the lead by offering seven places. Sky Bet, bet365, Paddy Power, William Hill, Betfair, Bet Victor, Unibet, BetMGM, BoyleSports, Star Sports, LiveScore Bet, Betway, BetGoodwin, Spreadex, Sporting Index, QuinnBet and Midnite are all tracking the leader closely on six places. All of the operators listed above are paying out at 1/5 odds.

Grand National places for each-way bettors
In 1929, a record field of 66 runners contested the Grand National and the race was won by a 100/1 shot, Gregalach. A limit of 40 runners was introduced in 1984, for safety reasons, and was lowered again last year to 34 – the maximum number for this year’s race.
That is still stacked when compared with other races, so punters are likely to opt for each-way bets that deliver a payout if a horse they have picked finishes within the specified amount of places.
Here are the runners and riders for the 2025 Grand National
For handicap races (such as the Grand National) with 16 runners or more, the industry standard for bookmakers is to pay out on each-way bets for the first four finishers. However, the Grand National is the biggest race of the year so, as mentioned, the majority of bookies will be offering extra places as an incentive for punters to use them.

Who is offering Non-Runner No Bet for the 2025 Grand National?
Sky Bet, bet365, William Hill, Paddy Power, Betfair, Unibet, Betfred and BoyleSports are among the operators currently offering Non-Runner No Bet (NRNB) on the Grand National.
When NRNB is available on a race, it means that if you bet on a horse when the market is still under ante-post rules and your selection doesn’t run, instead of the bet being settled as a loser as it usually would, the operator will return your stake.
This is incredibly useful if you want to place a bet more than two days before the race begins, for example if you want to take advantage of new customer offers in the build-up to the race or will be unable to place a bet closer to the race because you are travelling.
